12/29/08 e-mail

Well, we are the only missionaries for the "twig" here. It is so small it can't even be a branch. There were 40 people at church on Sunday. We are the youngest people there by about 20 years, except for 2 young women. I learned in the last zone conference that my mission will go down to 88 missionaries. Over time they are going to get one set of missionaries for each unit. When I got here there were 134 missionaries in my mission. Like two transfers ago we only had one elder come out so that was crazy. Have you guys gotten the package from me yet? I still haven't gotten the pants yet. I guess they came by ups or something that they can't send it to me so it will get here on Thursday. Well, once you get it you will have to tell me which is your favorite CD. That is really cool that Jasmine's boyfriend is getting baptized. Call her and tell her to send me pictures and things so that I can see them and tell her to e-mail me too, I want to hear from her. I got the Lyon's card today. They went to the Hill Camorah Pageant. Right now I'm think about two hours away from there so I'm really close. I hope that I get to Susquehanna in the summer so that if anyone I know comes to the restoration site I will be able to talk to them. Will you send me a deck of cards? E. Norton taught me this really cool card game that I hope to remember when I get home. And, will you send my dice to play farkle and the rules. Well, I miss you guys. Elder Wesley

12/22/08 e-mail

Hey. I'm now in Sayre and it is cold up here. You know the bump of my mission that goes into New York? That is my area and it is cold up here. It is like 12 degrees outside and like in the negatives when the wind blows, which is like all the time. In all my other places we were close enough to see other missionaries on p-days, but not here. We are like at least 1 hour away from any other missionaries. That is so far away and its *COLD*. I have already seen enough snow to last me a few years, but I know it won't go away till summer. But at least I know I will only be here three mounths, with Elder Bakker, my new comp., 6 weeks. That is how it has been for me each transfer and place I have been. He came out a transfer before me and it is only his second area. It is my thrid, which is crazy. What else? So now I won't be able to see Brandon get baptized which is sad. Yes, I still remember your numbers and I still don't know what time I'm calling yet being in a new area and stuff like that. But I will talk to you in a few days. Love, Daniel

12/8 & 12/08 e-mails

We received two e-mails from Daniel this last week. The first was his usual Monday e-mail. We received a surprise one on Friday.

12/08/08
Yes, I know Elder Powell (a friend to a missionary serving in our ward), he is up in Williamsport right now. He is in my zone so I see him about once a transfer. I see Pres. Pugh at lest twice a transfer at zone conference and interviews. If I go to transfer meeting I see him there, too. I have not talked to the Williams since I left Waynesboro and they moved to West Virgina. I don't have that address so I don't know where to send them a letter. It is sad, I want to know how they are doing. So, how much do you have the elders over? I hope all the time because I know how much I like to go to peoples, homes. Oh, and the the guy whose his mom is form Germany is getting baptized the 27th. So, that is the one coming up. What else has happened? Oh, when am I going to get my ward list? I got Christmas cards, now I just need people's addresses. What is Shannon's so I can send her one? What is Robert's? We get people's phones that are in the ward and call on those for Christmas, so I'm going to see if I can find anyone who has t-mobile so I don't waste their minutes. So, I will hopefully be calling your cell phone but, who knows, like no one out here has t-mobile. So, I will see what I can get. That's good that your lesson went well. I just hope that you treat the missionaries well. So, do I get a cocamotion for Christmas or those pants I want? I'm a 32-32 just to let you know. I need to have everything mailed to me by the 17th, ok? Thanks for everything and love ya lots. Daniel

12/12
Hey, so we were going to have zone conference today but a big snow storm came into State College and that is where we have the zone conference for this zone and so they moved the zone conference to Monday and our p-day today. We will be able to e-mail again at lunch on Tuesday so just to let you know why I won't be e-mailing you on Monday. Love you lots and I can't wait to open the Christmas package I got from you guys I hope it is the pants I wanted because I could really use those so I don't have to wear my slacks tracting all the time. Well, love you lots. Daniel

12/01/08 e-mail

Dear Family:
My talk went well. I talked a little longer than what I thought I would. It was like 15 min. I never thought that I would be able to talk that long in front of people. Well, I will get the coat at zone conference on the 12th. That is the earliest I can get it because they mailed it ups not usps. I was going to just mail it to you guys and send some stuff to you as well so then I don't have to mail more than one box. There is some stuff that I would like for Christmas. I had a list going in my head and now I forgot it. I will mail it to mom. That is crazy about your job. Well, for Thanksgiving we went over to a member's home and it was nice. I hope I don't get transferred the week of Christmas, I would like to stay in Lewisburg. If I do get transferred, I hope I go down south again where it is warmer. It was nice on Saturday. But, I miss you and I can't wait to talk to you in three weeks. Love ya, Daniel

11/24/08 e-mail

Dear Family-
So, not much is happening for Thanksgiving. We are going to a member's house at one, but besides that we are going to play monopoly with some other elders at the church, but we really aren't doing anything. I do have to give a talk in church next Sunday on missionary work so that will be easy. We got an inch of snow last week so that was really cool. Me and my new comp are getting along really well. Can I have ACP's address? I want to send them a letter. Well, how is everything going right now? Well, nothing is really going on here right now. Well, I love you guys and miss you. Daniel

11/17/08 e-mail

Dear Family-
My new comp is Elder Norton. He is from New Mexico and he goes home in June, so I won't be killing him off. Why do we have 3 dogs? That is one too many. On Saturday we baptized Nate Fisher. I should be having at least one more baptism this month and at least two in December which will be really nice. I get to call you in almost a month which is crazy. When I talk to you I will have been out six month and I will just have 18 more to go. Well, my big coat broke, the zipper came off of it. It is going to snow this week so I need it. What I was thinking is that I will keep it and you go and talk to Doug and ask him to send me a new one and when I get the new one I will mail you the broken one to give to him. Does that sound okay? Let me know next week and let me know if that is what is going to happen. Well, you want to know what the high priests can do for missionary work. Well, I would say share the gospel with their friends, but all their friends are probably really old and stuck in their ways... just kidding. But, always go out with the missionaries as much as they can. The best thing is to have a member at every teaching appointment. Also, give the missionaries referrals and if the missionaries are following Preach My Gospel they will call you and let you know how it went when they went to see them. Also, on page 13 of Preach My Gospel there are quotes from the prophets. I like the one from George Albert Smith. I like to read this one to people when they don't do missionary work because its not just talking about going it is also talking about after. You should read that one to them it will get people motivated. Well, I love you and I miss you guys. Elder Wesley

Daniel and companion standing by Mormon Church Rd. street sign

11/3 & 10 e-mails

We were busy last week and did not get that e-mail posted, so here are segments from his last two e-mails:
11/03
I got the sweaters and they are a little too big. I will mail them back. Is mom glad to be home and happy to see everyone again? So how is Darcy doing? I got the shirt today that she sent me. That was nice of her. She said the she is going to start to go to school to be a nurse which will be nice. You can always have a job where ever you want. That was nice of the Waldies to have you over at their house. Tell them hi for he and that i miss seeing them. Also will you call Jasmine and tell her to email me? I can e-mail whoever I want. Pres. Pugh lets us. I have been wanting to hear from her for a long time. Well, that is crazy about my car. So, are you guys going to keep grandmas or sell it? How is Jane doing? Darcy was happy to get her. Well, with the people I have been working with, Nate is doing really good. The Bishop's family had him and us over for Sunday dinner which was nice. He should be getting baptized on the 15 and we should have this other girl soon, too, which will be nice to have two people getting baptized. I don't think I will be able to go to the fireside (for the elders leaving the mission). I will most likely go and stay with the other elders in my district and stay with them till I get a new comp. which will be on Monday some time. Do you see the missionarys much? Well I don't think there is much else going on right now, but i will let you know in a letter. There is one thing can you do for me. Look a Sam's Club and see if they have a big thing of airborne because Wal-Mart just has those little ones with I think 12 in them but this one elder had a big one that had a lot and he said his mom mailed it to him. So if I could have one of those so I don't have to keep wasting my money on getting those it would help a lot. Thanks for everything. Love, Daniel

11/10
Things are going really good and I will be having a baptism on Sat. which is going to be cool. Number 6 so that is nice and so far they all are still going to church which is even better. So I don't know who my new companion is. I'm staying with some elders in my district and they wanted to go e-mail and so I will e-mail again today when my comp gets here which I don't know when that will be. I will e-mail you again and tell you who he is (he did not get a chance to e-mail again, so we will find out next week). So, I love you, Daniel

10/27/08 e-mail

Zone conference was so good! It started with us going to the site of the Hale's home and then we got back on the bus and went over to the site where the Hales where burried. Then we went to the monument and then the site of the Smith home. Then we went to the river and then we went to the ward building and had conference. We were in different groups the whole time till we went to the building. It was such a cool place to go to. I loved it and you guys should go there so time. It is really cool. But besides that my week was the same - missionary work all the time. The bishop's son had his farewell this last Sunday. I don't think too much has happened this week for me to write about. We do have one person set with a baptism date which is really cool. His name is Nate Fisher. We should have another person, a girl who is dating the bishop's son (the one that is going on a mission) ready for baptism soon. We have been teaching her and asked her if she wants to get baptized and she said yes, but was not ready to set a date yet. That is about it. I heard from Aunt Sheila. She said the OSU Cowboys are doing pretty good so thats cool. Well, I love you and miss you. Daniel

10/20/08 e-mail

Well, I can't remember if I told you or not, I'm going to Susquehanna for zone conference this Wednesday. So, that will be really cool and I will take a lot of pictures to send home to you guys. I would like it if you were able to bring Jane (the dog) back from grandma's when mom comes home. I would like to have her. Have you thought about selling the truck and keeping grandma's car for you guys? Where is Derek living right now? Well I also wanted to let you know that another person I was working with in Waynesboro got baptized on Saturday which was really cool. I only wish that I could have been there to see it because on one is more ready to be baptized than her. Well, I hope that I have told you enough stuff that is going on right now. We really aren't working with anyone to special and so I can't tell you much about that. I love you and I miss you and I only have 20 months to go by the way. Elder Wesley

10/18/08 Update

We have been out of town and not able to post an update for a couple of weeks. Here are some items from Daniel's e-mails and letters from the last couple of weeks.

I really liked conference. I can't say which talk was my favorite. I want to read them again first so then I can get more out of it. This first week in Lewisburg was hard; it was hard to get motivated and to meet people all over again. I'm in the Lewisburg Ward and the area is the ward boundaries so you can see that we do have a car. There are only 10 areas in this mission that are bike areas. We are getting a new car this week so I guesss that will be cool. We really aren't working with anyone right now, so we have been looking for people and teaching and seeing who will be the ones the Lord has prepard for the church. Well, the weather is getting cold and not nice, I don't like it. I wish that is was hot outside. I have been trying to think about what I'm going to do when I get home because people like to ask you that. Right now I am not sure. I really don't have much else to say but that I love you and that I miss you. Oh, something cool that will be happening next week is that we are going to the restoration site for zone confference next week so that will be really cool to spend a day there. Elder Daniel Wesley

9/29/08 e-mail

Daniel was transferred today to Lewisburg, PA. Lewisburg is a small town, home to approximately 5,500 people. It is located about 60 miles north of Harrisburg, is the county seat of Union County, and home to Bucknell University. The eastern border of Lewisburg is the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The area is largely rural with a lot of farm land.

Daniel's e-mail from today says:
Well, I'm now in Lewisburg. I just got here so I can't tell you much about the area. My new comp's name is Elder Decker. He is from California and he goes home at the end of this transfer. So, I guess they just like having me kill people off. But, ya the Williams (the family he baptized) are moving which is cool. They will like it where they are moving. They are such a cool family, I love them and I will miss them so much. I will also miss Andrew (the young man he baptized). He is one of the most fun people I know and I will miss him a lot. And I will miss serving with Elder Russell. I loved him, I learned so much from him and I became a better missionary because of him. But, ya I really don't have much to say, but I love you guys and I miss you a lot.

9/15/08 e-mail

Dear Family
Well, this has been a good week for us. It is funny that you asked in your e-mail if anyone is coming to our mission. Well, tomorrow we are going to zone cofference in Harrisburg and Elder Zwick is going to be there. He is the last one in the first Quorum of the Seventy, so that is cool. He will be talking to us all day. Well, this week has been a good one. We have been stopping by a lot of less active people's homes, but a lot of them have moved and we don't have anyway of getting back in touch with them. We don't teach the recent convert lessons to our new converts, they have the ward do that. We have just been trying to find people to teach. We found this Spanish family, but it is hard to teach them because we both don't know how to speak Spanish. They are from Puerto Rico which is kinda cool I think. So, how is Darcy? Well, we have been teaching about 20 lessons a week and we have been getting about 5 new investigators a week. Most of them, however, aren't ready to hear the gospel yet. But that's ok, we still have a few that we can work with. What is grandma's po box and what is Zach's address and Gordon's, I still need to send him a thank you card. Well, I love you and miss you lots. You are always in my prayers.
Love, Elder Wesley

9/08 e-mail

Last week was hard but amazing all at the same time trying to get baptismal clothes and all that stuff was hard. We also had to make sure that everyone knew about the baptism because we had to change the time and all that stuff and so it was just hard. BUT it turned out really well. I baptized Jason and his son. I got the stuff you sent for them in time. Thank you so much. The book you sent for the little one - he loves it. He goes around and says that it is his favorite book. You would really like that family. If you think that they need anything else or want to give them anything, that would be nice. I also confirmed Andrew. Andrew is an amazing person. He wants to go on a mission. That will be so cool if he does! Just think, from me coming on a mission the Williams kids will go on a mission and they will bless people and Andrew will go on a mission and bless people and it started with the missionaries that taught you. So, from them they have blessed a lot of lives. That is really cool to think about. I wish that I could call you and tell you more of what is going on because it is hard to explain over e-mail. So, do you feed the missionaries much or see them much? well I need to start working on Darcy's e-mail. Love you lots, Elder Wesley

9/01 e-mail

We have been slow in getting Daniel's last update onto the blog. Daniel was able to go to the chapel and use a computer in the family history library to e-mail us on Labor Day. He was excited because they had baptisms scheduled for Saturday, Sept 6. One is a husband and wife. They have three children. They are excited to be able to go to the temple in a year. There was also a single male they were baptizing. Daniel asked to send them each a book as a gift he could give them. They are no longer teaching the guy that would not get up to go to church.

8/25 Letters

We got an e-mail and a letter from Daniel on Monday. He seems to be doing very well. Here are some highlights from those letters.

Sister Smith (a senior missionary who works in the mission office) said that you got kicked out of the bike shop the other day. (Long story about us trying to get a bike to Daniel - the right bike. Still working on that. Lets just say the owner and I had some words and I am no longer welcome in his store.) That is crazy. I want to know the story behind that, you getting kicked out of some place - that is funny, really funny. So, Derek is in Georgia. That is carzy. So, how is Darcy doing? What is going on with her and what is going on with mom? Oh, thank you for the conference talks and the hymns on CD. I really like them. Did I tell you that we just got a new bishop last week? He is a really cool guy. Well my new comp is Elder Russell. (They had transfers last week and Daniel's first companion's time was up on his mission so he went home. Daniel stayed in Waynesboro and got a new companion.) He is a really nice guy. I got us lost driving in Harrisburg and he got mad at me. I just laughed and laughed. Oh, happy 60th birthday (what! I am not 60 yet). It was on the 24th, right? Just think, I will only be gone for one more of your birthdays. That is a really cool thought. We are going to be have baptisim on Sept. 20 for sure and I hope we will be having one on the 13th, too, but I don't know if that one will be happening then. Well, thanks for everything.
Love, Elder Wesley

e-mail from 8/11/08

Hey,
I will be in Harrisburg next Monday getting a new companion. So, if I have not gotten a bike I can just go ahead and get one there. We got referred to this couple. They are golden. We have 5 or 6 investigators. Some how we just stumble into them. You know what is really cool, it is to have the conference talks on CD. You can get them at the bookstore. My comp has a lot of them and we listen to them a lot of the time, but he will be taking them with him when he leaves. We are teaching and doing really well. We had a zone cofference last week and they said we should be in PEC meetings so we will start doing that. Well, I love you and I still have more people to e-mail. Love Elder Wesley

Letter 7/28/08

Mom-
You need to read Miracles of Faith by Thomas Monson. It is such a good talk. I found ti n the July 2004 Ensign. This is a quote I took from it: "It is imperative that we recognize that whatever has happened to us has happened to others. They have coped and so must we. We are not alone. Heavenly Father's help is near." I told my comp about it and he didn't seem that impressed, but I really like it. I think it gives people comfort and helps us get over the trials of life. Well, I really haven't been doing anything to exciting. We are teaching a few people. It is so cool to watch them change their lives as they learn more about the gospel and they feel the Holy Ghost in their lives. Tomorrow I am going to a new missionary lunch in Harrisburg so that will be fun being able to see all my friends from the MTC. Well, love you. Elder Wesley

8/04/08 E-mail

FYI mail eveything through usps so they can forword it to me at my apartment. You can go to the post office and ask for a flat rate box and they will give you one and you can fill it up. Its like 9 bucks to mail and those will get to me faster then anything else. If you use dhl or ups I have to wait for zone conference or interviews and they come once a transfer and a transfer is 6 weeks. Can I get a little hymn book and an oil contaner like the one I had on my key chain? That would be nice and anything else you think I would like. I really don't need any snack stuff because I can go to Wal-mart and get what I want. Today I went to Gettysburg all day so I don't have much time to email because we just got back. It was way cool. I'm going to go back next transfer and see more stuff. I took pictures and some videos so you can see those when you get that memory card. I don't know about the bike. I will find out when I go to Harrisbrug for zone conference on Thursday, but you can call the mission office and ask them and find out. When i get off my mission we will have to go to Gettysburg. It is so cool there. I got see to just a little bit. It is nice that you and mom got to get away for a few days. Well, the investagators are really nice and coming along really well. I am glad to hear you fed the missionaries. That is really nice. Offer to give them rides to there appointments and stuff they need to do and give them bags of food to take home, that is nice too. I need the good karma. Well, love ya and sorry this email is so short. I will write you tonight and tell you more about what is going on. Love you lots, Elder Wesley

7/28/08 e-mail

So, we are teaching three people right now. One is a lady and her granddaughter. She wants to get baptized so that is really cool. We are also teaching a guy named Joey. He is really wanting to learn more. We started teaching him the second day I got here, I think, and he is doing really well, he just doesn't come to church. Its making me mad. Its because he works nights and he has Saturday night off, so thats not a problem, but he just doesn't want to wake up and then not be able to go back to sleep in the afternoon to go to work that night. So we are trying to get him to go to church. We haven't been tracting that much, we don't have enough time, but we will start taking more time soon because we need so more investagators. We are also trying to teach this girl in her 20's who has, I think, 3 or 4 kids, but she wants to know more. She just never has time to meet with us. We were going to see her today but then her grandpa died and so we are going to see her on Friday. Now stuff like that just keeps happening and it makes me mad. So thats why we need to find more people. So, I hear you got a new dog hahaha. I didn't think you would get a new one. Have you been able to study chapter 6 of Pearch My Gospel. That is such a good chapter. I always look at it if I'm having a bad day. Well, I have to go do stuff for p-day and call and see if they have a bike for me. I love you all, Elder Wesley

7/21/08 E-mail

We received another e-mail from Daniel today. Last week it came before noon so we started getting anxious about noon today looking for it. It did not come until about 1:30; seemed like forever....
Here is a summary of what he had to say:
I still haven't got a bike. I called the office right before I wrote you to ask if they got it yet and they said no. So, I will mail you the reciept so you can take care of it because Iwould really like one so we don't have to put so many miles on the car. We are teaching an 18 year old girl who knows she wants to get baptized, she just doesn't know when. We are also teaching this one guy who really likes what we are teaching him, but just doesn't seem to be willing to go to church. I think there are about 140 people who go to church every week (in the Fairview Ward where he goes). There are a ton of inactives here in PA. If everyone was active we would have at least one more ward, if not two. Well there was a talk that Elder Holland gave and I wanted mom to read, but I forgot to write it down so I hope to tell you next week. Its just me and Elder Hoxer in this ward. We get feed about every night. Well, last week I went to Gettysburg for a few hours and I did stuff with one of the elders from there and that is such a cool place. We have to go there for the 4th of July. I know the day I will get home - June 21, 2010, just to let you know. So I guess I will be gone for more than two years - hahaha. Well, they are telling me I have to get off but i love you lots.

7/14/08 E-mail

Today was Daniel's P-day so he was able to e-mail us and let us know where he is and how he is doing. Following is from his e-mail:

Hey. Well today is my first p-day. I'm in Waynesboro. It is this small town close to Maryland and west of Gettysbrug. My comp is Elder Hoxer. He is from North Ogden, Utah. He will be going home on August 17 so at next tranfers I will be getting a new comp. Elder Hoxer is cool. We get along really well so that is good. The people here are amazing and I love them. The ward I go to is called Fairview and the people are really nice. We have dinner with someone every night so that is really nice. The place we stay at is ok it. I'm in a car area so that is nice. So how is everything going? Have you found Pokie yet? (Our dog who ran away) I miss that dog. How is mom doing and how is darcy and everyone?

Well love lots

Elder Wesley

7/9/08 Letter

Daniel got to write a short letter while in was in the mission home. His letter says:

"We got here about 7:00 and we went straight to the mission home. I love it here. When we landed the runway is right next to a river and that is way cool. It is so green it reminds me of Oklahoma but without the cedar trees. Well, I love you and miss you lots.

Love Elder Daniel Wesley.

He also included a couple of pictures. One with another missionary who we assume is his first companion, Elder Hoxer. The other with President and Sister Pugh.

Daniel arrives in Harrisburg

Daniel flew from Salt Lake City today (July 7) to Harrisburg. He was able to call us from both the Salt Lake airport and the Atlanta airport. He was up at 3 to get to the airport. He first called us at 5 our time. He did not say much then. When he called from Atlanta we had a longer conversation. His plane there was delayed so the had lots of time. He said it was kind of weird to be the one with the missionary tag out among the people in the airport, but he was loving it. He said he has been having some trouble with his asthma and has lost some weight, but other than that he was fine. He enouraged us to read from Preach My Gospel. There were several missionaries in his district at the MTC who are going to New Jersey and will be part of Colten Well's mission.

He was scheduled to get to Harrisburg about 7:20 tonight their time. They would stay at the mission home for the night and then go out to their areas tomorrow. We are looking forward to finding out where he will be.

Daniel's letter of 7/3/08

Hey Fam
I thought you might want a hand written letter also (in addition to e-mails).

So, I just have 4 days left (at the MTC) and I got done e-mailing you just a few minutes ago. So I don't know what all I'm going to say but the Church is true so live it and love it. We don't get to do anything for the 4th so tht sucks. It is just another day of the Lord's work which is fine. Logan sent some glow worms but nothing to light them with so I don't know what I'm supposed to do with them. So, I really haven't done to much, just my laundry and write letters. Last week I did write Dana, Papa & Nana, Sheila, and Jeremy so check and see if they got those letters. I didn't give them the MTC address because I'm not here that long. I just gave them the mission home one.

Well, I need to start a letter to Colten.

Love you lots,

Elder Wesley

Pictures received on 7/2 & and e-mail on 7/3/08

On Wednesday, we received a package from Daniel with a bunch of pictures from the MTC. Several of them are posted below.

On Thursday Daniel was able to e-mail. His e-mail included:
Hey dad, how is you day going? I'm just waiting for stuff to do. I'm having so much fun. I leave here at like 5 in the morning (on Monday, July 7) and get to Atlanta at like noon and then leave there at 4. I think this it just from my head. I don't have the paper with me. I'm flying Delta so I hope I will have Dana. That will be cool. I sent her a letter saying my flight number and all that and the times.

I have learned so much while I'm here and I can't wait to get out to the field. My comp, Elder Taylor, is so cool. There is this other elder in my district, Elder Davis. He is way cool. I talk to him a lot about stuff. My teachers are amazing. I get a really good price on stuff at the book store so if you know you want anything like cds or something dear edler me right now and i will try to get it for you and mail it to you. I get like 50% off, so just let me know.

If you have any questions for me about what I do just ask me and I will tell you. We have an hour of personal study and then an hour of companion study everday and we are in class for about 9 hours a day so we learn a lot. The food sucks. I have lost about 6 pounds being here so I can't wait to get some real food again.

Ok, well I got to go. I hope you can reply before 1 so i get another email today.

Love lots, Daniel

Daniel's letter home; 6/26/08

Daniel is not much for writing, so his letter was short. In part, he said: "I'm loving the MTC. I can't wait to get out in the field. My comp's name is Elder Taylor. He is way cool."

Today was also his first P-day so we got a short e-mail. In the e-mail he said he got to go to the temple today. He again stated he is loving it there and is excited to get to Pennsylvania.

Into the MTC

Daniel reported to the MTC on Wednesday, June 18.

Prior to leaving for the MTC, Daniel spent time visiting friends and relatives in Oklahoma and Texas. He also took a trip to California.

On Monday prior to reporting he went to Salt Lake City with his parents and sister. They enjoyed touring Temple Square, relaxing, and taking a buggy ride. Daniel and his parents got to take in a session at the Salt Lake Temple.

Reporting into the MTC was a joyful and emotional experience for all. After the meeting, video and some quick hugs Daniel took off to start his adventure as a missionary.

Pictures from these events will be posted soon.
