9/29/08 e-mail

Daniel was transferred today to Lewisburg, PA. Lewisburg is a small town, home to approximately 5,500 people. It is located about 60 miles north of Harrisburg, is the county seat of Union County, and home to Bucknell University. The eastern border of Lewisburg is the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The area is largely rural with a lot of farm land.

Daniel's e-mail from today says:
Well, I'm now in Lewisburg. I just got here so I can't tell you much about the area. My new comp's name is Elder Decker. He is from California and he goes home at the end of this transfer. So, I guess they just like having me kill people off. But, ya the Williams (the family he baptized) are moving which is cool. They will like it where they are moving. They are such a cool family, I love them and I will miss them so much. I will also miss Andrew (the young man he baptized). He is one of the most fun people I know and I will miss him a lot. And I will miss serving with Elder Russell. I loved him, I learned so much from him and I became a better missionary because of him. But, ya I really don't have much to say, but I love you guys and I miss you a lot.

9/15/08 e-mail

Dear Family
Well, this has been a good week for us. It is funny that you asked in your e-mail if anyone is coming to our mission. Well, tomorrow we are going to zone cofference in Harrisburg and Elder Zwick is going to be there. He is the last one in the first Quorum of the Seventy, so that is cool. He will be talking to us all day. Well, this week has been a good one. We have been stopping by a lot of less active people's homes, but a lot of them have moved and we don't have anyway of getting back in touch with them. We don't teach the recent convert lessons to our new converts, they have the ward do that. We have just been trying to find people to teach. We found this Spanish family, but it is hard to teach them because we both don't know how to speak Spanish. They are from Puerto Rico which is kinda cool I think. So, how is Darcy? Well, we have been teaching about 20 lessons a week and we have been getting about 5 new investigators a week. Most of them, however, aren't ready to hear the gospel yet. But that's ok, we still have a few that we can work with. What is grandma's po box and what is Zach's address and Gordon's, I still need to send him a thank you card. Well, I love you and miss you lots. You are always in my prayers.
Love, Elder Wesley

9/08 e-mail

Last week was hard but amazing all at the same time trying to get baptismal clothes and all that stuff was hard. We also had to make sure that everyone knew about the baptism because we had to change the time and all that stuff and so it was just hard. BUT it turned out really well. I baptized Jason and his son. I got the stuff you sent for them in time. Thank you so much. The book you sent for the little one - he loves it. He goes around and says that it is his favorite book. You would really like that family. If you think that they need anything else or want to give them anything, that would be nice. I also confirmed Andrew. Andrew is an amazing person. He wants to go on a mission. That will be so cool if he does! Just think, from me coming on a mission the Williams kids will go on a mission and they will bless people and Andrew will go on a mission and bless people and it started with the missionaries that taught you. So, from them they have blessed a lot of lives. That is really cool to think about. I wish that I could call you and tell you more of what is going on because it is hard to explain over e-mail. So, do you feed the missionaries much or see them much? well I need to start working on Darcy's e-mail. Love you lots, Elder Wesley

9/01 e-mail

We have been slow in getting Daniel's last update onto the blog. Daniel was able to go to the chapel and use a computer in the family history library to e-mail us on Labor Day. He was excited because they had baptisms scheduled for Saturday, Sept 6. One is a husband and wife. They have three children. They are excited to be able to go to the temple in a year. There was also a single male they were baptizing. Daniel asked to send them each a book as a gift he could give them. They are no longer teaching the guy that would not get up to go to church.
